Gary C. Jackson - Managing Partner, President
Gary joined Cornwell Jackson in 1983. Along with being in charge of tax services and Legacy Wealth Management for the Dallas office, Gary serves as the managing partner and president, leading strategic planning and practice development for the firm.
He provides specialized business succession and tax services to companies in the manufacturing, distribution and technology industries with a focus on steel service centers, architectural metals firms, and software and gaming developers.
Throughout his career, Gary has helped many companies meet and exceed their financial goals. His successes include working with a technology company to restructure, realign and sell their business resulting in a 4,200% return on investment (ROI). Gary also assisted in negotiations allowing a closely-held distribution company to make financial and management adjustments that generated a growth curve of 300% in three years, which ultimately resulted in their management team selling the business to a multi-national competitor for a profit.
Prior to joining Cornwell Jackson, Gary worked with Arthur Andersen & Company, serving in the audit and tax services department as a member of the oil and gas industry team. Gary’s extensive experience in public accounting, paired with his passion for helping business owners improve their companies, makes him an invaluable asset to his clients.
Gary frequently presents Open-Book Management at Inc. Magazine’s annual manufacturing seminar and is a regular speaker on Business Succession at North Dallas Chamber of Commerce events. Gary can also be seen speaking about consulting services on a popular webcast by Results Accounting Systems. He is a member of the BKR International Tax Committee and the High Net Worth Families/Estate Planning Committee.
A former certified valuation analyst, Gary is also a member of the Association for Corporate Growth and the Alliance of Mergers and Acquisition Advisors. He also serves as the Dallas area director for Lexbridge International Mergers and Acquisitions Group, the strategic advisor to BKR International for mergers and acquisitions. Gary is certified as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) and member of the AICPA Personal Financial Planning (PFP) section.
Gary grew up in Richardson, Texas, and currently resides in Prosper with his family. Both of his parents were educators, heavily influencing his lifelong commitment to learning. In his spare time, Gary enjoys golfing, fishing and volunteering with a ministry that targets inner city spiritual and economic development.
